Riding
Rancho del Rio is happy to take riders of all abilities and can even provide lead pony rides for children of 6 and under.
Rancho del Rio is located in the lovely Guadalhorce valley and is owned and run by Jane, who is herself a very experienced rider and teacher. Jane has competed for Great Britain, ran her own riding school in Oxfordshire, was involved in the Riding for the Disabled scheme and relocated to Andalucia 5 years ago.
Rancho del Rio uses Spanish Andalucian horses and traditional Spanish saddles. We have riding hats available and, as you would expect, with Jane’s background, are very safety conscious. We will take a maximum of five riders, including up to two inexperienced ones, at any one time.
We offer a variety of rides from one hour up to a full day ride which includes a BBQ and use of a swimming pool.
We are more than happy to arrange rides tailor made for our customers as well as offering riding lessons for anyone over the age of six. The Guadalhorce valley is famous for it’s orange and lemon groves and magnificent scenery. With it’s relatively flat valley bottom and surrounding hills and mountains it provides rides to suit almost anyone’s requirements. Jane knows the area extremely well and is able to make the best use of the riding time available
